With Berlin developing towards the world’s capital for music tech, it’s no surprise that we call Berlin our second home. MOST WANTED: MUSIC (MW:M) has become the most important music business event in Berlin and the second largest conference for music and creative industry professionals in Germany. seeqnc was invited to join a panel at this year’s edition and talk about the importance of performance royalties and the technology to track and report setlists.
Publishing 2020 – Influencing the live performance publishing space
Publishing royalties generated from worldwide live performance can be a hugely valuable source of income for composers. However, accessing those royalties is not always straightforward, due to the challenges in monitoring and reporting on what has actually been played. To make things better, the processes that some collection societies use to license venues need to be updated. The good news is that changes are already underway: and in this session, you’ll meet the people working to help creators receive what they’re due.
We appreciated this opportunity to contribute to this exclusive round of industry professionals and provide some insights into how technology will enable fair and faster payout in the future. #getplayedgetpaid
